The Adventure Continues, With My Man Chan

OK, so things didn't go exactly as expected last week.

Cancer is a sneaky bastard, and no one knew it had sneaked into an unexpected place somewhere down there deep inside of me.

Infiltration. An attempt to establish a foothold.

My kind and capable surgeon opened me up, took one look inside and knew -- this was no ordinary foe. This was an extraordinary situation that called for extraordinary measures.

So she sent an urgent wire to My Man Chan.

The Shaker. The Baker. This dude's going to heat things up down there. He's going to make this cancer wish it had never decided to mess with me.

He's got some skills, My Man Chan. He's got some talents. Ain't but a handful of people in the whole wide world who can do what he can do.

And I'm gonna make him famous. Like Sherlock Holmes. Or at least Larry Holmes.

You see, I'm younger than his average cancer patient. And my other organs are in pretty damn good shape. So if My Man Chan and his team do a good job with my Shake and Bake, I am going to live for 50 more years -- maybe even longer. That's going to push his patient survival rate average WAY up there, so statistically speaking, he's going to be the greatest surgeon of all time.

He's among the best in the world at what he does. Killing cancer is his business, and business is good.

Writing is my business, and I'm pretty damn good at it, too. No, I'm not among the best in the world. But give me another 50 years to hone my craft -- who knows?

Some of that honing will be compliments of My Man Chan.

Are you ready?

The Shake and Bake Showdown starts tomorrow at dawn.

Time for cancer to get the hell out of Dodge.

Your positive attitude will help kick cancers butt too! Sounds like you are in good hands Friday with a great surgeon and the fact that you are younger will definitely be to your advantage too.
