pre-spring in dark a.m.
trains
sirens
shoes on wet pavement
early songbirds
prowlers
crows
whispers
creaking doors
big, slow cars
Magic.
damp falling twigs
distant yells
laughter
splashes
droplets
ducks
whistles
an accident
mopeds

Windy Fall Morning
Bold bluster.
Chilly mist
Rays of bliss
And one-half of a
Colorful promise.
I watch a train in the sky
Railroad cars roll and roar by.
No whispers today
But whistles and
Rumbles.
Leaves scurry, frightened from their
Summer homes.
Autumn alive!
