Ottumwa Community Children's Playhouse director Marc Lay was making the rounds to the local radio stations this morning, promoting this weekend's production of my play, "The Goodcheer Home For Broken Hearts."
He had some nice things to say about the play, and about me, and so did Tabitha and Big D on the KOTM (TOM FM, 97.7) Morning Show. I was truly flattered. Listen in on the interview here: "The Goodcheer Home For Broken Hearts" To Be Presented At Bridge View Center In Ottumwa, April 15-174/9/2016 The Ottumwa Community Children's Playhouse will be presenting my play, "The Goodcheer Home For Broken Hearts," next weekend! Shows are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. on Sunday at Bridge View Center in Ottumwa. This play is a spoof on the North American Melodrama, with a hero, a villain, and a heroine -- and the audience gets to participate with boos, cheers and the like. It's a lot of fun for kids and adults. It was originally produced by The Davis County Children's Players, directed by Joy Orwig and Josie Drummond. I have since rewritten the play and had it published by YouthPLAYS. They have published one of my other plays, "Crimes and Rhymes," to much success. "Goodcheer" has been produced many times since, but this is the first time it's been produced close enough for me to go see it. I am very excited, OCCP and their kids always do a great job! This was announced on Ottumwa Radio a while ago. I'll be there for every show. Don't be afraid to say, "hello!" Below is the show's poster, a radio news story from a couple months back and a radio ad about the production. |
